Then, I got to explore the city and go to a bunch of little knick knack shops. It started to rain, so we headed back to the apartment. It cleared up right around dinner and I wore a sweater out for the first time this trip. It was so beautiful out while we walked around the city to find a place to eat. Since none of us were too hungry we went to a place that looked like it was having apertivos (appetizers). We went in and they offered samples of the apertivos. When we decided we liked it we asked how much, the server answered that if we bought a glass of wine you could have all you can eat apertivos. The wine was 4 euros. This is the cheapest meal I've had in Italy. As we sat and drank our wine and ate our delicious apertivos we talked with all of the servers at "Passa Guai". They were all some of the nicest people I have met here in Italy, along with their regulars that came in while we were enjoying our wine. At the end we asked one of the servers what his favorite thing on the menu was and as he started to explain it, he stopped, got out the ingredients, and made it for us right there! That's right. For 4 euros we got wine, apertivos, and a free sample sandwich. After we laughed and talked some more with the locals and the servers we went back to our apartment and talked about how we would be returning there very soon... Tomorrow to be exact, to watch the World Cup of course. :)
Vai Azzurri!
